Sorry everyone for not posting for a while. . . I've been tied up with school. But when Summer Break arrives I can hopefully post more often!

Book Review: So You Want to Be a Jedi by Adam Giowitz
***
So You Want to Be a Jedi is a stellar retelling of The Empire Strikes Back! But what makes this fun novel different from the other Star Wars books is you get to be the character!
You can walk in Luke Skywalkers sh
oes and follow his footstepes. It's written to be in your point of view, but you as Luke.
Another bonus is in between each chapter is a lesson on how to become a Jedi, it teaches you how to meditate, concentrate, to be calm, etc.
It has great art inside, and includes small sketches of characters.
One downfall that I was disappointed in, is that it skipped most of the romantic scenes between Han and Leia; the book saying something like: “we'll skip the mushy parts, because you as Luke, it doesn't concern you”.
Otherwise, it's a very good book! :)

Pro's
Walking in Luke's footsteps
Great sketches and painting in interior
includes meditation tips and lessons
great storytelling
action packed
funny examples and figures of speech
feels real/ feels like you're experiencing the movie
Con's
skipped vital Han and Leia 'falling in love' scenes
over-uses words such as 'ran' and 'said'
sentences are sometimes choppy
Notes:
The Audio CD of So You Want to Be a Jedi is a great way to hear and live the story. Listen to it while you close your eyes and it feels so real! I really enjoyed renting the CD from the library and listening to it, as well as buying the actual book from Barnes & Nobles Booksellers.
Overall Rating:

4 1/2 : I rated this book 4 1/2 because of some of the con's.
I hope you enjoyed this review!!
